We've been in the Christmas spirit this week since Thanksgiving is over and we're now looking forward to the next holiday! I used to think it was silly to even think about Christmas before December 1, but now that we have kids it's just so much fun to start celebrating early.
The snow we had this week in the Philadelphia area helped us feel even more festive. We had about 3 - 5 inches of snow at our house, and it was perfect for making the first snowman of the season! My son obviously enjoyed it.....
We also started off the Christmas celebration last weekend with a visit to a few places in Philly that I'd highly recommend if you're in the area. The first stop was the Macy's Christmas Light Show in Center City. This Macy's is in the historic Wanamaker building which makes it a cool place to visit any time of the year.
Daddy and lovebug having fun:
The best part of the whole show was at the end when my son said "That was FANTASTIC" and gave me a big hug. "Fantastic" is not a word he usually uses, so we knew we made the right decision to see the show. Ah, the sweet innocence and joy of a 2 year old!
Lovebug also enjoyed Macy's Christmas windows. This window had "It's a Wonderful Life" playing on the TV with a little boy watching in his pajamas, and a big parade balloon coming out of it. My son thought the displays were so interesting and he kept walking to each of the 3 or 4 windows to see what was in each one.
Our last stop was at Reading Terminal Market, one of my favorite places in Philly. They have a fun holiday train display there with buttons that kids can push to make the trains or parts of the display move. My son LOVED the trains and had a hard time leaving ;)
Reading Terminal has SO many food options and tons of fresh, local food. It was SO busy though that we didn't even attempt to find something that was allergy-friendly for my son. Plus we were also navigating a stroller with my daughter in it, and trying to keep lovebug happy since it had been a long morning already.
I'd love to investigate allergy-friendly options on a quieter day. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Wow! You got a lot more snow than we did here in the Hudson Valley. What a cutie standing next to that snowman :-)
Thanks Colette!
Looks like a lot of fun! What a sweet little guy you have. We haven't had much snow at all here in the Toronto area, which is unusual. I'm not complaining. It will come!
Thanks Jo! Yes, I'm sure you're in for some snow this winter (I'm sure we'll have some more too here in PA!).
